Ojha sir, who studied for UPSC with a towel tied on his head, has joined the Aam Aadmi Party. Party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal and senior party leader Manish Sisodia included him in the party.
Ojha sir can contest elections on AAP ticket
On this occasion, Ojha sir said that education is milk, whoever drinks it will roar. He has been coaching students for the last 22 years. His social media followers count in lakhs. Now Ojha sir can contest on AAP ticket in the Delhi Assembly elections to be held in February 2025.
Have sought tickets first from BJP, then from Congress
In an interview given to a news channel in August 2024, Awadh Ojha had told that he wanted to contest the last Lok Sabha elections on a BJP ticket. He had asked for a ticket for Prayagraj seat from the party, but did not get it. The party asked him to contest from Kaiserganj, but he had to contest from Prayagraj.
He told that due to his mother’s refusal, he did not contest elections from Kaiserganj. After this he asked for a ticket from Congress to contest on Amethi seat. Initially the party was ready for this, but later Kishorilal Sharma got the ticket from this seat.
Prepared for UPSC by selling land, failed in Mains
Avadh Ojha was born on 3 July 1984 in Gonda, UP. His father Shrimata Prasad Ojha was a post master. He had 10 acres of land. The father sold 5 acres of land to enable his wife to study. After completing her studies, she became a lawyer.
For the second time, Shrimata Prasad Ojha also sold the remaining 5 acres of land for her son’s education. Awadh started preparing for UPSC. But failed in Mains. After this, he started teaching history in a coaching class in Allahabad to meet his pocket expenses. In an interview he had said, ‘Where I come from, you either have to become an IAS officer or a criminal.’
Fed up with the monotonous way of teaching, students started leaving coaching.
In the beginning, Awadh Ojha’s method of teaching was very monotonous. Frustrated with this, students started leaving coaching. Ojha Sir took feedback from the children to know the reason for this. After this he started teaching in a new way. Students started liking his new style.
Some students shot their videos in the classroom and shared them on social media which went viral. In the year 2020, he started his YouTube channel. According to media reports, today his net worth is Rs 11 crore.
