Australia defeated West Indies by 3 wickets in the fifth T20 and made a clean sweep in the series 5–0. Australia won the fifth and final match played in Basatere thanks to the brilliant batting of Tim David, Mitchell Owen and Cameron Green.
West Indies scored 170 runs in 19.4 overs while batting first. In response, Australia achieved the target by scoring 173 runs losing 7 wickets in 16 overs.
West Indies poor start The West Indies started to bat after losing the toss. Opener Shai Hope was out for 14 runs. After this, the second opener Brandon King returned to the pavilion for 22 runs.
