The police have also recovered Fortuner (PB 20C 7100) from him. He was brought to Bhogpur police station on Tuesday night, where he was intensively questioned. The police will present him in court today.
On the other hand, Fauja Singh has not been cremated yet. Family members say their sons, daughters and other relatives are coming from Canada. The funeral will be performed only after his arrival.

NRI had bought a car from a person from Kapurthala The team formed by SSP Harvinder Singh Virk of Jalandhar listed some vehicles out. One of them was identified late Tuesday evening. The number revealed that the said train is registered in the name of Varinder Singh, a resident of Athauli village in Kapurthala.
After which the Jalandhar police teams left for Kapurthala and reached Varinder. During interrogation of Varinder Singh, it was found that a NRI from Canada, Amritpal Singh Dhillon had bought his car. Amritpal’s father has passed away, he has 3 sisters and his mother lives in Canada.
The police identified the CCTV footage and identified the Fortuner.
After the incident, the accused reached Kartarpur via village Police arrested Amritpal late on Tuesday night and recovered the car. After the accident, Amritpal went directly to his village Dasupur. During interrogation, Amritpal has confessed his crime. Amritpal told that he was returning after selling his phone from the Mukerian side. When he approached the Beas Pind, an elderly man was hit by his car. He did not know that the elderly were Fauja Singh. When the news started coming late in the night, it came to know about the death of Fauja Singh.
Fauja Singh was taken to a private hospital in Jalandhar in critical condition on 14 July. He died there.

Was left home after eating food:Fauja Singh’s younger son Harvinder Singh said that he had left the house to take a walk after having dinner on July 14 at 3 pm. At that time I was not at home. When he reached the highway, an unknown car hit him, causing serious injuries to the head, chest and ribs. He was taken to the hospital.
After shifting to ICU, he died: The son further stated that his condition also showed some improvement and he himself was placed under his head, but when he was shifted to ICU, he started breathing. At around 6 pm, doctors declared him dead.
