Afghanistan got a setback just before the second match with Bangladesh in the Asia Cup. The team’s fast bowler Naveen-ul-Hak has been ruled out of the entire tournament due to a shoulder injury. The second match of Afghanistan will be played on 16 September in Abu Dhavi.
The 25-year-old Naveen-ul-Haq has not been able to play a single match in this tournament. He did not get a share in playing-11 in the first match. The Afghan board wrote on X- ‘Afghanistan’s experienced fast bowler Naveen ul Haq Mains has been ruled out of T20 Asia Cup 2025. He is still recovering from a shoulder injury and the ACB medical team has not declared him fit to play in the remaining matches. Naveen will pass through intensive rehab till it is fully fit.

The Afghan Cricket Board said in a statement released on Monday-
We expect Naveen to recover rapidly. Abdullah Ahmedzai will be part of the Afghan team in the next match.
Afghanistan match with Bangladesh tomorrow
The Afghanistan team will play their second match against Bangladesh on Tuesday. After that the last league match of the team will be from Sri Lanka on 18 September. Afghanistan will have to win the upcoming 2 matches to reach Super-4.
