Anish Bhanwal won the individual medal in the 25m sports pistol and the silver medal in the team event.
Olympian Anish Bhanwala won the silver medal at the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol event on Wednesday at the ongoing 16th Asian Shooting Championships in Shimkant, Kazakhstan. Along with this, India has been topped with a total of 74 medals (39 gold, 18 silver, 17 bronze) so far.
22-year-old Aneesh scored 35 in the final, but China’s Tuanboffan scored 36 to win the gold medal as well as set World Junior and Asian Championship Junior Records.
Anish along with Adarsh Singh and Neeraj Kumar also won the silver medal with a total score of 1738 at the Team event. Adarsh qualified for the final while finishing second with a score of 585 in the qualification, but finished fifth in the final.
Neeraj qualified for the final with 570 points in qualification

Neeraj scored 570 marks in qualification. In the final, Aneesh was in the lead till the fourth series, where he missed 2 out of a total of 20. In the fifth series, Suu hit the perfect 5 score, while Aneesh’s target missed.
In the subsequent two series, Anish also targeted each one, which gave Suu a point lead. In the final series, Aneesh shot first and made the perfect 5 and pressurized, but Suu maintained restraint and won the gold medal by hitting the perfect 5.
Silver medal in junior trap mixed event In the Junior Mixed Team Trap Event, the pair of Aryansh Tyagi and Bhavya Tripathi had to be satisfied with the silver medal by losing 37–38 in the gold medal match to Nikita Moiseev and Alonora Ibragimova of Kazakhstan.
Team silver medal in 50 meter pistol At the same time, Yogesh Kumar, Amanpreet Singh, Ravinder Singh gave the silver medal in the 50m pistol event. Yogesh scored 548, Amanpreet 543 and Ravinder Singh scored 542. While the team received the gold medal in the 50m pistol junior.
