Anandkumar Velkumar of India has created a new history in skating. Anandkumar, 22, won the gold medal in the speed skating world championship in China. He has become the first Indian to win the gold medal at the Skating World Championship.
He finished first in the Mains Senior 1000m Sprint event. Anandkumar won gold with a time of 1 minute 24.924 seconds and became India’s first world champion skater.

Anandkumar studying in computer science Anandkumar Velkumar is a young speed skater of Tamil Nadu. Born on 19 January 2003, Anandkumar is currently studying in Computer Science from College of Engineering, Gindi, Chennai. He made a mark on International by winning the silver medal at the 2021 Junior World Championships and then acquired a bronze in the 3000m team relay in the 2022 Asian Games.
