He has become the second Indian bowler to take 10 wickets in a Test match in England. Earlier, Chetan Sharma did this feat in Birmingham in 1986. Akashdeep defeated England by 336 runs in the second Test match. With this, the five-match series is equal to 1-1.
England, chasing the target of 608 runs, were all out for 271 runs on the last day of the match. This is India’s biggest win ever in terms of run on England soil. The previous record was of 279 runs.
India defeated the British in 1986 by this margin in Leeds. Also, India has won the first win in 58 years in Birmingham. Earlier, India lost 7 out of the 8 Tests played here and 1 match was drawn.

Akashdeep was born on 15 December 1996 in Dehri, Sasaram, Bihar. He made cricket his dream since childhood, but he had to face a lot of struggles in this path. Cricket made a profession to run a house in Bengal
Initially Akash went to Delhi with his sister. From here he started his cricket career. Then played club cricket in Bengal. Later also represented Bengal in domestic cricket.
Used to give 25 thousand for household expenses
Akashdeep joined a cricket club in Durgapur with the help of Akashdeep to run the house expenses. At the same time, by playing tennis ball cricket, he earned up to 800 rupees every day and used to send about 25 thousand rupees a month to the family. He later moved to Kolkata and played from the United Club in the Cab League.

In 2019, he made a T20 debut for Bengal and soon performed brilliantly in Vijay Hazare Trophy and Ranji Trophy. In the IPL, in 2021, he joined Royal Challengers Bangalore and in 2025 Lucknow Supergiants bought him for Rs 8 crore.
Debut against England in 2024
