Vian Mulder hit 49 fours and 4 sixes in the innings.
South African captain Vian Mulder played a historic innings of 367 runs against Zimbabwe on the second day of the second Test being played in Bulvio. Despite being unbeaten until the lunch break, South Africa declared its innings at 626/5, leading to 33 runs away from Mulder Brian Lara’s historic 400 runs.
Apart from Mulder, Luhan-D-Pritorius scored 82 and David Bedingam scored 78 runs. From Zimbabwe, Tanaka Chivanga and Kunde Matijimu got 2-2 wickets.
Mulder completed triple century in 297 balls Vian Mulder, playing his first Test as a captain, scored the fastest triple century after Virender Sehwag. Sehwag did this feat in 278 balls against South Africa in 2008. Mulder also hit 49 fours and 4 sixes in his innings.
The biggest score for South Africa Mulder became the second South African batsman to score triple century after Hashim Amla. He also broke Amla’s record of 311 runs. Mulder crossed Amla’s record by hitting the blessing of Blessing Mujbani through a cover.

The biggest Test innings on foreign land Mulder’s 367 runs have now become the biggest personal score in Tests abroad. He broke Pakistan’s Hanif Mohammed’s record of 337 runs against the West Indies in 1958. Mulder also overtook veterans like Sanath Jayasuriya (340), Lane Hutton (364) and Sir Gary Sobers (365).

- Mulder scored the second highest score in South Africa in first-class cricket. The biggest score is Stephen Cook 390 runs (2009-10).
- Mulder scored the first triple century of the Test in Zimbabwe. Prior to him, Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara was scored in 270 runs (2004, Bulaviyo).

- Mulder scored the second fastest triple century in Test history. He completed a triple century on 297 balls. The fastest triple century Virender Sehwag’s name is 278 balls (2008).
- Mulder completed 350 runs in 324 balls, this is the fastest 350 runs of any batsman in the Test. The old record was Matthew Hayden 402 Ball (2003).
- Put the second highest boundary in an innings of the Test. Put 53 boundary (49 fours + 4 sixes) in the innings.
