1. Bihar becomes the first state in the country to start e-voting
On June 28, the first state in the country became the country to start e-voting facility from Bihar Mobile App.

- When a voter takes part in the voting process from anywhere through mobile, it is called e-voting.
- This facility is for those voters who are senior citizens, disabled, serious illness, pregnant women or migrant laborers.
- For this, 51,155 voters have registered, including 26,038 male and 25,117 female voters.
- This e-voting was used by Bihar State Election Commission.
2. Majgaon Dock Shipbuilders Limited will acquire Sri Lanka’s Colombo Docyard
Majhgaon Dock Shipbuilders Limited, the country’s largest government company, which makes a warship and submarine, will acquire Sri Lanka’s Colombo Docyard.
The deal was done for Rs 442 crore for a controlled staff of 51% in the Sri Lankan company.
- It also includes the purchase of shares of Japanese’s Onomishi Dockyard.
- This is MDL’s first international acquisition.
- The Colombo Dockyard established in 1974 is Sri Lanka’s largest shipyard, working for more than 50 years in shipbuilding, ship repair and heavy engineering.
- After the acquisition, Colombo Docyard will become a subsidiary of MDL.

1. JNU started the application process for admission of PHD
On 27 June, Jawaharlal Nehru University i.e. JNU started the application process for admission of PHD in academic session 2025-26. Candidates can give online applications by visiting the official website jnuee.jnu.ac.in.

Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the National Teacher Award 2025 by visiting the official portal of the board CBSEIT.IN. The last date to apply for this is 6 July.
There should be a 10 -year teaching experience for teachers. At the same time, there should be an experience of 10 years teaching and 5 years as a principal working for the principal.
