Nisanka could add only 12 runs for his score of 146 on the third day.
On the third day of the Colombo Test, Bangladesh has scored 31 runs losing one wicket in the second innings till tea. Shadman Islam is unbeaten on 12 runs. The team is still 180 runs behind Sri Lanka’s first innings score of first innings.
Sri Lanka scored 458 runs in the first innings thanks to Pathhum Nisanka’s brilliant 158 runs and Dinesh Chandimal’s 93 runs. Kusal Mendis played a fast innings of 84 runs. For Bangladesh, Taizul Islam took 5 and Naeem Hasan took 3 wickets. Bangladesh’s first innings was reduced to 247 runs.

Anamul dismissed just before tea
Anamul Haq, who came to start the second innings for Bangladesh, was sent to the pavilion for 19 runs by Asitha Fernando in the last over just before tea. Haq hit 2 fours and a six.
Openers’ fifty partnership
In the first session of the second day, the Sri Lankan team made a strong start after allout Bangladesh for 247 runs. The pair of Pathum Nisanka and Lahiru Udara made a fifty partnership. The team’s score here was 83/0.
The partnership of Sri Lankan openers was broken by Taizul Islam. He lbw lahiru Udara on a score of 40 runs. Nisanka and Udara added 88 runs for the first wicket.
Nisanka’s third century, 194 -run partnership with Chandimal
After losing the first wicket for 88 runs, Pathum Nisanka made a century partnership with Dinesh Chandimal to bring the Sri Lankan team into a strong position. He scored 194 runs on 311 balls with Chandimal. Chandimal was dismissed for 93 runs. He was caught by Naeem Hasan at the hands of Litton Das. Nisanka was dismissed for 158 runs. He was dismissed by Taizul Islam.
