Mohammad Sahail, a resident of Muzaffarnagar, had passed 12th in 2021 with his brother. The family could not afford to teach both sons. So only brother took admission in college. Sauhail quit his studies and started running the father’s e-rickshaw to support the family.
Sauhail, who runs e-rickshaws, will soon become a doctor. In NEET UG 2025, he has secured 552 marks out of 720. Last year, more than 600 marks of Sauhail came but could not find any college.
No one read more than 12th in the family
Sauhail is survived by his mother, father and two brothers. Due to economic reasons, his elder brother left college studies in the middle.
There is no atmosphere of education in the family. Sauhail also had the same situation. He used to think that after studying till 12th, he would do a job again, but his mother wanted to see him as a doctor. His mother believed that children had to be taught in any way.
Sauhail says, ‘I come from a lower middle class family. Is there no educated in my family. Talking towards my grandfather or towards Nana, no one can even think in a dream that he becomes a doctor. I also did not think that I would be able to get a 1 million MBBS degree. ‘
Sauhail says that no one in his family thought that a doctor could also become a doctor.
After 12th, e-rickshaw, people used to threaten as a child
Recalling his days of e-rickshaws, Sauhail says, ‘Once I was driving a rickshaw. Then a bus came. The riders started getting off from it. I stopped rickshaw at one place and started calling.
Someone pushed the rickshaw from behind and the rickshaw started running due to lack of hand breaks. A rickshaw on a bike parked behind was hit and his mudguard broke. The owner of the bike came and took out the key of my rickshaw. Started saying that I would give the key only when the bike is repaired.
I said that I am driving a rickshaw myself, how will I fix it. I was driving a rickshaw since morning. By then I had earned 200-250 rupees. When he reached to fix the bike, he said that it will take 300 rupees. My face winds flew away.
I was driving a rickshaw by making voice to people since morning. Then he had earned 200 rupees. It was my whole day hard work that went through my hand. People used to threaten me easily considering me a child.
Preparation in English by studying in Hindi medium
The biggest challenge before Sauhail was the economic condition of the house. He says, ‘After 12th, it is found that there is also an exam like NEET. Then I started to find out for its preparation.
I found out at some coaching centers. The fees of everywhere were very high. Some 60 thousand and somewhere there was 80 thousand fees. Then I went to my school teachers and started studying.
After this, he took coaching online because she was affordable. Online coaching fees were only 3-4 thousand rupees.
The second major problem in front of Sauhail was the language. He did his entire studies in Hindi from first to 12th. In such a situation, everything was placed in English in front of them at the time of sudden preparation. Due to the absence of English, he started thinking how he would be able to study. There was no one to guide.
It seemed impossible to become a MBBS doctor
Sauhail says, ‘My mother had said that he has to become a doctor but never said that MBBS has to become a doctor. We were from the lower middle class family and could not even think there.
It was the mother of the mother that we should sit in the same way as the doctors in the street. Then I came to know about NEET. I had thought that if I want to do MBBS.
Sauhail did not follow any schedule. They believe that when the time is found, sit down and keep reading until the topic is over. Sauhail would have locked himself in a room and studied till 12-1 in the night.
Following timetable sounds bond
Sauhail used to run rickshaws in the first year of preparation. In the morning, rickshaws would leave the house. Used to return till 4-5 in the evening. After this, he used to go to a teacher to study. Starting from 5-6 pm, he used to study till 12-1 in the night but it did not seem enough. After that, studied online and stopped driving a rickshaw.
Sauhail says, ‘I had no plan, no schedule to study. Once I used to sit down to study, he used to get up after finishing the entire topic. It did not see whether lunch is time or night. If used to start, he used to stand and stand from there.
I did not make a time table. When the time was found, he used to sit down to read. I did not want to tie myself at any time because it makes you stuck in a boundary which is not right for preparation. I have studied with PW application. Bought a batch so that I could prepare and give the test. The festivals drop prize at the time of festivals. Bought a batch at the same time. ‘
Do not ignore the inner voice
Sauhail says to the people working hard for something that listen to your mind carefully and do not ignore at all.
Sauhail says, ‘Don’t think that we are coming from the village or we are coming from a poor family, then we cannot afford. First, look at giving an attampt. It will understand if you can prepare.
If you have thought of MBBS, then do not move her, no matter what. If feeling is coming from inside, then definitely do it. Do not determine your goal. Even if the family also asked you to stop, but if you feel that you can do it.
