The high-profile match of India and Pakistan will be played at the R Premdasa Stadium in Colombo on 5 October at the Women’s World Cup.

India is going to host the Woman World Cup for the first time after 12 years, which will begin on 30 September 2025. India is hosting the Woman World Cup for the first time since 2013.

28 league matches will be played in the tournament

In this tournament, 28 league matches and three knockouts will be played in five places – Bengaluru, Indore, Guwahati, Visakhapatnam and Colombo. At the same time, the first semi -finals will take place on 29 October in Guwahati or Colombo (dependent on Pakistan’s progress) and the second semi -final in Bengaluru on 30 October. The final will be played on 2 November in Bengaluru or Colombo.

The 2025 tournament format will be similar to 2022, in which eight teams will play each other in a round-robin format and the top four teams will reach the semi-finals. Apart from host India, Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa and Sri Lanka directly qualified. The last two places Pakistan and Bangladesh achieved in the qualifiers in Lahore earlier this year. The West Indies are not part of the tournament, they lagged behind Bangladesh on a net run-rate basis in the qualifier.
