Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has issued a notification for the 71st Joint Competition Examination 2025.

Through this examination, a total of 1250 posts will be appointed in various departments of the state government.
The Commission has also announced the date of application.
The online application will start from 2 June 2025. 30 June 2025 is its last date. At the same time, 30 August 2025 is the date of the possible examination.
Age limit for candidates
- The minimum age limit of candidates to apply should be 20 to 22 years.
- Maximum age limit for general category- 37
- For BC and EBC- 40
- For SC-ST- 42
Government servants will get maximum 5 opportunities to sit in these examinations after coming to service.

Know, exam and selection process
Prelims exam
150 questions will be asked in the prelims exam. All these will be objective types. For this, the candidates will get two hours. There will be negative marking. 10 times the candidates of Vaccity will be passed in it. Candidates who pass the prelims examination will be allowed to appear in Mains.
Main written examination This exam will be of three subjects. It will have two compulsory subjects, the first general Hindi which will be 100 marks. It will be mandatory to bring 30 percent marks in this subject. However, its numbers will not be added to the merit list. Second general studies (paper 1 and paper 2) each paper will be of 300 digits. Apart from this, every candidate has to choose an optional subject. Whose paper will be of 300 marks. Each subject will be tested for 3 hours.
Interview After passing the main written examination, candidates will be able to give interviews. This will be of a total of 120 marks. After that the final merit list will be prepared.
Final merit list Merit list will be prepared on the basis of 900 marks of the main examination and 120 marks of interview, a total of 1020 marks. Reservation category wise result will be released. If some candidates have the same marks, then in this situation the candidate who has more marks will be kept above. If marks are equal in the main examination too, then optional subject numbers will be seen.
