- 15th students suicide this year in kota female student from Jammu Kashmir Dies in Hostel

On Monday, 18 -year -old NEET Aspirant committed suicide in Kota. The student was a resident of Jammu and Kashmir and was preparing to stay in PG at Pratap intersection in Kota. This is a matter of 15th student suicide in this year’s Kota.
Calling the relative and said- I am doing suicide
Circle Inspector Ramesh Kavia of Mahavir Nagar Police Station said, “Before suicide, the student Zeeshan spoke to a relative on Sunday and told that she could probably commit suicide.”
After this, his relative named Burhan immediately called Mamta, a student living in PG and asked him to see Zeeshan. After this, Mamta ran and ran towards Zeeshan’s room and found that the room was closed from inside.
After this, Mamta made noise and broke the door with the help of people and saw the Zeeshan hanged. He was immediately rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead.
The student returned to the quota a month ago
Police say that the student was first coaching NEET in Kota. After this she went home. This time she returned but did not take admission in any coaching. The student wanted to prepare only by doing self -study.
There was no anti-hanging device in the room
Police said that the fan from which the student hanged was not installed anti-hanging devices. The anti -hanging device is a spring -like device planted in the fan that opens when hanged.
In this way these devices can prevent suicides. In the year 2024, a student’s life was saved with the help of this device.
Supreme Court reprimanded Rajasthan government regarding students suicide
In the hearing held on May 23, the Supreme Court had described the cases of students suicide in Kota as serious and reprimanded the Rajasthan government.
The bench of Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice R. Mahadevan said, ‘So far this year 14 students have committed suicide in Kota. What are you doing about it as a state? Why are students committing suicide in Kota itself? Have you not considered it as a state? ‘
The Supreme Court made this comment during the hearing of the body of the student in Kota and the suicide case of the student of IIT Kharagpur. The Supreme Court has sought a response from the Rajasthan government in this matter. The next hearing will be held on 14 July.
In 2024, 17 students suicide, 26 in 2023
Talking about the years, in 2024, 17 students living in Kota were suicide. There were 2 suicide in the month of January last year and 3 suicide in the month of February. In the year 2023, a total of 26 cases of student suicide were reported in Kota.
‘Don’t teach children to handle failure’
Dr. Satyakant Trivedi, member and psychiatrist of MP Suicide Prevention Task Force, said about the student suicide happening in Kota, ‘There is no reason for any suicide. All children are giving the same exam. In such a situation, mixed factors are responsible for suicide. This includes genetics causes, social causes, peer pressure, parents’ expectations, education mechanisms.
Dr. Trivedi says that somewhere we fail to teach children how to deal with stress, rejections or failure. Today the child is beginning to believe that his academic achievement is bigger than his existance. The child is not ready to leave the preparation, ready to leave life. The society has glorified competitive examinations very much, due to which the child feels that I will be fulfilled only when I will crack an exam.
