This was to say that the famous IAS officer Ashok Khemka. IAS Khemka of 1991 batch Haryana cadre retired at the age of 60 on 30 April. He was always known for his honesty, transparency and tough stand against corruption.

Birth in Kolkata, father was a clerk in jute mill

Ashok Khemka is originally from Kolkata. He was born on 30 April 1965. Khemka’s father Shankarlal Khemka was a clock in the jute mill. Ashok Khemka graduated in Computer Science from IIT Kharagpur. PHD in Computer Science from Tata Institute of Fundamental Research and MBA in Business Administration and Finance.

He topped Computer Science and Engineering in IIT Kharagpur before joining civil service. In 1990, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) passed the Civil Services Examination. 1991 became an IAS officer of batch and was allotted Haryana cadre.

Transferred 57 times

Khemka was transferred 57 times during his service. Among them, there were 8 posts in which even a month’s term could not complete and was transferred. Her longest posting was in Haryana State Warehousing Corporation, where she served as Managing Director from July 2008 to April 2010.

The order of CM was also not accepted

In 2004, the Haryana government issued an order to transfer several teachers in the middle of the session. Ashok Khemka objected to this and refused to follow the order of the then Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala. He said that the transfer of teachers between sessions can affect the education of children. After this incident, the government withdrew his official car. Khemka started going to the bicycle or foot secretariat from the very next day.

Robert Vadra’s land deal can be canceled and came into discussion

In 2012, Khemka canceled the land deal between Robert Vadra’s Skylight Hospitality and DLF in Gurugram. Vadra was the son -in -law of Congress President Sonia Gandhi, due to which it became a big political issue. At that time Khemka was working on the post of the Director General of Consolidation. The Congress government of Haryana immediately transferred him to the post of Director General of Haryana Seed Development Corporation.

Got important 5 months ago Department

Only 5 months before retirement, Ashok Khemka was posted by the Haryana Government to the post of ACS in the Transport Department. Anil Vij is currently handling this department. Vij had written a letter to the government that Ashok Khemka should be applied to the Transport Department.

Khemka was earlier the Additional Chief Secretary of the Department of Printing and Stationary. In the Transport Department, Khemka was entrusted with the responsibility of 1994 batch IAS officer Navdeep Virk.
