The 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is going to start today. The first match will be played at the Eden Gardens Stadium between Kolkata and Bengaluru from 7.30 pm. There will also be an opening ceremony from 6 pm.

In the 18th season, only 3 teams chose second choice homeground. Earlier, there were 12 grounds in 17 seasons where IPL matches were held, but they did not get host this time. These include stadiums of Indore, Ranchi and Raipur.
