New Zealand fast bowler Matt Henry seems difficult to play in the final of the Champions Trophy 2025. Henry was injured in the semi -finals against South Africa.
Kiwi head coach Gary Stead said on Friday, “Henry’s fitness remains doubtful even about 48 hours before the final.” The final match of the tournament will be played in Dubai between India and New Zealand on Sunday.
Henry is still in pain- stead Stead said, according to me, the positive thing for us is that he came down to bowl again. He has some scans and we want to give him every possible opportunity to play the final. However, his situation is still a little uncertain at this time.
He further said, he is still in pain due to his shoulder fall. Hopefully he will recover.
Henry’s shoulder injury
Matt Henry fell on the shoulder while taking a catch.
Henry suffered a shoulder injury during the semi -final match played between South Africa and New Zealand. During the fielding, he ran towards Long on in an attempt to catch Henrich Klassen in the 29th over. They caught this catch but got injured. After this, he also went out of the ground for some time. However, he bowled two overs in the last over of the match. He was also seen diving after a return to the field after the injury.
