Team captain Mohammad Rizwan has clarified when Pakistan was out of the semi -finals in the Champions Trophy. He has cited the two players of the team Sam Ayub and Fakhar Zaman not being in the team. Both could not play in the tournament due to injuries.

Rizwan said in an interview to Broadcaster after the match was canceled with Bangladesh in Rawalpindi on Thursday that we are all very disappointed. We had expectations from the countrymen. We are accepting that we did not perform well. Hopefully we will work hard and return.

He further said that the balance of the team deteriorated due to the absence of Sam Ayub and Fakhar Zaman. Both players were doing well in Australia, South Africa and Zimbabwe for the past few months. The team was balanced. Suddenly both were injured, causing the team to face trouble.
