1. Center approves the National Critical Mineral Mission: The Union Cabinet approved the ‘National Critical Mineral Mission i.e. National Important Mineral Mission’ in 7 years with an expenditure of Rs 34,300 crore.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav informed the media on the decisions of the Union Cabinet in New Delhi on 29 January.
- The ‘National Critical Mineral Mission’ was approved in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
- Out of the total expenditure, 18,000 crore public sector undertakings will be given in 7 years, so that important minerals can be discovered within the country and in offshore locations.
- Under this mission, the discovery, mining and processing of important minells in the country will be done, as well as their price range will be prepared.
- Its purpose is to accelerate the green energy transition in India.

2. America will send illegal immigrants to Guantanamo Jail: Trump has announced to create a migrant detention center of a capacity of 30,000 people at the US Navy base at the Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
US President Donald Trump signed on the Lacane Relay Act on 29 January.
- This law empowers Federal officials to detain illegal immigrants who are involved in a criminal activity.

3. Union Minister Giriraj Singh inaugurated the ‘Handloom Conclave: Manthan’: Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh inaugurated the handloom conference ‘Handloom Conclave: Manthan’ at Dr. Ambedkar International Center in Janpath on 29 January.
On this occasion, Giriraj Singh launched the online module for handloom weaver e-hachan portal and handloom awards.
- During this time prizes were distributed for handloom manufacturing companies or start-ups.
- The ministry will prepare a model for the handloom industry, in which handloom weavers will get a minimum of 300 days permanent employment a year.
- The handloom conclave is being organized for the best practices and innovations for the development of the handloom sector.
- About 250 stakeholders and officials of different departments of the ministry are participating in this conference.

6. All -party meeting was held before the budget session: Before the budget session of Parliament, the Central Government called an all -party meeting on 30 January.
