Madison Keys of America has won the first Grand Slam of the year Australia Open’s Women’s Singles title. He defeated Aryana Sabalenka of two-time defending champion Belarus 6-3, 2-6, 7-5. Keys has won the first Grand Slam title.

29-year-old Keys defeated World No-2 IGA Swiatek in the first semi-finals. She has thus become the first player in the US to defeat the top two players of the rankings after Serena Williams at Melbourne Park. Serena did this feat in 2005. Keys, ranked 14th in the ranking, got 19th preference in this tournament. This was his second Grand Slam final after being runners up in the US Open 2017.

Keys stopped Sabalanka from equaling Martina Hingis by applying a hat -trick of title win in the Australian Open. Hingis became its champion for three consecutive times from 1997 to 1999.

The finals of the singles between Sinner and Zverev The final match of the tournament’s Men’s Singles category will be played on Sunday at 2 pm between Janic Sinner and Alexander Zverev. Zverev received a walkover after the removal of Novak Djokovic. He reached the final of this Grand Slam for the first time.
