1. 55th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum from today
The 55th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum is starting today from January 20 in Davos, Switzerland. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav will participate in it. Various issues including global geopolitical tensions, climate change and AI will be discussed at the World Economic Forum. It is a Swiss non-profit and international organization, founded in 1971.
It is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland and its current Chairman and CEO is Borges Brande.
2. India’s men’s and women’s team became the first world champion of Kho-Kho.
India’s men’s and women’s team have won the first Kho-Kho World Cup. The finals of both categories were played on 19 January at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi. The women’s team defeated Nepal by a huge margin of 78-40. At the same time, the men’s team also defeated Nepal, but the difference was 54-36.
India’s women’s team won 6 consecutive matches in the Kho-Kho World Cup and won the title.

1. Recruitment for 933 posts in Odisha, graduates to engineers can apply
Odisha Police Recruitment Board has invited applications for the posts of Sub Inspector, Station Officer and Assistant Jailer. Candidates can apply online by visiting the official website of Odisha Police, odishapolice.gov.in.
Educational Qualification:
- Sub Inspector of Police, Sub Inspector of Police (Armed), Assistant Jailer: Bachelor Degree
- Station Officer (Fire Service): Science or Engineering Graduate.
Age Limit:
- Candidates age should be minimum 21 years and maximum 25 years as on January 1, 2024.
- Relaxation of 5 years in upper age limit will be given for SC, ST, SEBC and women candidates.
- Ex-servicemen will be given relaxation for the entire period of service.

Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur has announced recruitment for the post of Stenographer. Candidates can apply by visiting the official website of Rajasthan High Court hcraj.nic.in.
Educational Qualification:
- Must have passed 12th from a recognized board and should have knowledge of writing Hindi in Devanagari script and knowledge of the local language of Rajasthan.
- Candidates must have done O Level / COPA / Diploma / RSCIT Course.
Age Limit :
- Minimum: 18 years
- Maximum: 40 years
- Candidates coming from reserved category will be given relaxation in upper age as per rules.
- Age will be calculated keeping in mind the date of 1st January 2026.
Fees:
- General, OBC: Rs 750.
- OBC NCL, EWS: Rs 600.
- SC/ST category will have to pay Rs 450 as fees.
Salary:
- Candidates will have to remain on the posts of Probation Trainee for 2 years. During this period he will get a salary of Rs 23,700 per month.

1. UP Board practical exams postponed due to JEE Mains
UP Board’s 12th practical exams have been postponed. Actually, these practical exams were to be held in two phases and its first phase was to be held from 23rd to 31st January. But now JEE Mains exam is starting from 22nd January, hence the first phase of 12th practical exams will now be held between 1st February to 8th February. Whereas, the second phase will take place between February 9 and February 16.
2. UGC NET admit card released
Admit cards for UGC NET exam to be held on 21st and 27th January have been released. Candidates can download the admit card from ugcnet.nta.ac.in. This exam will be in CBT i.e. computer based mode.
3. Release of answer key of re-exam of 70th CCE exam
BPSC has released the answer key for the re-exam of 70th CCE exam. Candidates who had given re-exam on January 4 can check the answer key on bpsc.bih.nic.in. Candidates can download the answer key from here till 21st January.
