Karnataka won the Vijay Hazare Trophy title after 5 years. The team last became champion in the 2019-20 season.
Karnataka won the Vijay Hazare Trophy title for the 5th time. The team defeated Vidarbha team, playing the final for the first time, by 36 runs on Sunday. Batting first in Vadodara, Karnataka scored 348 runs losing 6 wickets. In reply, Vidarbha could score only 312 runs.
Vidarbha captain Karun Nair, who scored 5 centuries in the season, could score only 27 runs. Opener Dhruv Shorey scored a century, but he could not lead his team to victory. Middle order batsman Ravichandran Smrana from Karnataka played an inning of 101 runs. Prasidh Krishna, Vasuki Kaushik and Abhilash Shetty from the team took 3 wickets each.
Karnataka lost 3 wickets early Vidarbha won the toss and chose bowling at Kotambi Stadium. Karnataka had a bad start, the team lost 3 wickets for 67 runs. Captain Mayank Agarwal could score only 32 runs, Devdutt Padikkal could score only 8 and KV Anish could score only 23 runs. Smaran then took charge of the innings with wicketkeeper Krishnan Srijit. Both of them took the team’s score beyond 200.

Century to remember, Srijit scored fifty Sreejith was out after scoring 78 runs, he made a partnership of 160 runs for the fourth wicket with Smaran. Smaran scored a century and took the team’s score beyond 300. He added 106 runs for the fifth wicket with Abhinav Manohar. Smaran scored 101 runs, while Manohar was out after scoring 79 runs.
In the end, Hardik Raj scored 12 runs and Shreyas Gopal scored 3 runs from Karnataka and took the score to 348 runs. Darshan Nalkande and Nachiket Bhute took 2 wickets each from Vidarbha. Yash Thakur and Yash Kadam got 1 success each.
Ravichandran Smaran scored a century in the final for Karnataka. He had scored 76 runs in the semi-finals.
Dhruv did not get anyone’s support from Vidarbha Against the target of 349 runs, Vidarbha batted at a run rate of 6. Opener Dhruv Shorey stood at one end, but wickets started falling continuously in front of him. Yash Rathore 22, Karun Nair 27, Yash Kadam 15, wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma 34 and Shubhman Dubey were out after scoring only 8 runs.

Vidarbha’s hopes ended with Dhruv’s wicket Dhruv Shorey scored a century, he was out after scoring 110 runs and Vidarbha’s hopes of winning the final were over. After him, Apoorva Wankhede scored 12 runs, Nachiket Bhute scored 5 runs and Darshan Nalkande scored 11 runs. Harsh Dubey scored a quick 63 runs, but could not lead his team to victory. Vidarbha was all out after scoring 312 runs. Vasuki Kaushik, Prasidh Krishna and Abhilash Shetty took 3 wickets each from Karnataka. Hardik Raj got a success.

The team won the last title in 2019. On the other hand, Vidarbha had made it to the finals for the first time, but the team remained runner-up. Haryana had won the title last season. Karnataka had made it to the finals by defeating Haryana in the semi-finals.
