1. PM Modi distributed 65 lakh ownership property cards
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today on January 18 virtually distributed 65 lakh proprietary property cards in 10 states and 2 union territories. More than 50,000 villages from 12 states participated in it. Swamitva Yojana is a scheme run by the Centre. Its full name is Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas.

1. Two students committed suicide in two days in Kota, JEE Mains exam after four days
The process of suicide of students is not stopping in Kota. Last night, a student committed suicide by hanging himself at his grandmother’s house in Jawahar Nagar police station area. The student had JEE Mains exam after four days. The student was studying with his brother till late night before hanging himself in the corner of the window. The cousin brother, who was sleeping in a nearby room, informed the family about the incident in the morning.
The incident took place late Friday night in Jawahar Nagar police station area. ASI Jawahar Singh said- Manan Jain (17) was a resident of Indergarh area of Bundi district. The family refused to get the postmortem done of the son. Manan’s maternal uncle Mahavir Jain told that his eyes have been donated with the consent of the family.
On the night of 16 January, a coaching student preparing for JEE committed suicide by hanging himself from a fan in Ambedkar Colony of Vigyan Nagar police station area of Kota. He had talked to his brother. Said- I will come home after a month.
Vigyan Nagar police station SI Anjali said- Abhijeet Giri (18), who was preparing for JEE, was a resident of Odisha. His family members reached Kota on Friday night. The police have conducted post-mortem and handed over the body to the relatives. The student’s mobile has been confiscated, which is being investigated. The fan in the room where Abhijeet was staying did not have anti hanging device. In such a situation, the Municipal Corporation has seized the 17 room hostel with immediate effect.
2. Order to close 260 government schools in Rajasthan
The Bhajanlal government of Rajasthan has closed 450 government schools in the last 10 days. Director of Secondary Education Ashish Modi late on Thursday night issued an order for closure of 260 government schools across the state. About 10 days ago also 190 schools were closed. All the schools closed are Hindi medium.
Of these, two schools are for girls which have been closed and merged with the boys’ school. The state government says that due to low enrolment, some schools have been closed and some have been merged with other schools.
