Jadeja has scored 77 runs while playing 1 match in this series.
Before the Boxing Day Test, once again there was tension between Indian players and Australian media. Indian off-spinner Ravindra Jadeja responded only in Hindi at the press conference on Saturday, drawing criticism from the Australian media. 7-News has said that this was a strange press conference. Earlier, on Thursday, Virat Kohli clashed with the Australian media at Melbourne Airport. Kohli also had an argument with a 7-News journalist.
The Indian team has reached Melbourne before the Boxing Day Test on Thursday. Team India has to play the fourth match of Border-Gavaskar Trophy with Australia from 26th December. The 5-match series is tied at 1-1. India had drawn the Gaba Test a day earlier (on 18 December). India won the first match in Perth by 295 runs, while the host team won by 10 wickets in the Pink Ball Test played in Adelaide.
What is the whole matter? Jadeja held a press conference at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Saturday. According to 7-News, he refused to answer questions in English during this period. It also said that Jadeja left the conference early.
The report further claimed that India’s media team at the press conference pointed out the journalists who were allowed to ask questions, including some Australian journalists. But, Jadeja replied only in Hindi. After this he told the journalists that he had to catch a bus and the press conference ended.
Subsequently, India’s media team stated that the conference was only for traveling Indian media, even though Australian media were invited.
