1. Former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala passed away
Former Chief Minister of Haryana and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) leader Om Prakash Chautala passed away today i.e. on 20th December. He was 89 years old. He suffered a heart attack after which he was taken to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram at 11.30. About half an hour later, at 12 noon, he breathed his last.
Chautala was the Chief Minister of the state 5 times and his last tenure was from 1999 to 2005.
2. 39-member JPC formed for ‘One Country, One Election’ bill
Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal on December 19 announced the formation of a Joint Parliament Committee (JPC) regarding the ‘One Country, One Election’ bill. The JPC formed for the constitutional amendment required for this bill has 39 members. A total of 27 members of the Lok Sabha and 12 members of the Rajya Sabha, including Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi, will be in the JPC. The committee will give its recommendations, after which the government will have to get the bill passed by Parliament. Let us tell you that on December 17, the ‘One Country, One Election’ 129th Constitution (Amendment) Bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha, then it was sent to the JPC.
Bharatiya Janata Party’s Lok Sabha MP Bhartrihari Mahtab has been made the chairman of the committee.

1. Recruitment of Junior Assistant in Airport Authority
Airports Authority of India (AAI) has released the notification for 89 posts of Junior Assistant (Fire Services).
The online application process for AAI Junior Assistant (Fire Services) Recruitment 2025 will start from 30th December 2024 and candidates can apply till 28th January 2025.
Educational Qualification:
- Must have passed 10th, 12th from a recognized board.
- Three years Diploma in Mechanical/Automobile from a recognized institute.
- Driving license.
Age Limit:
- 18- 30 years
- Age should be between 18 to 30 as on 1st November 2024.
- Age relaxation will be given as per rules.
2. Vacancy for 2,573 posts in Madhya Pradesh Area Electricity Distribution Company
There are vacancies for 2573 posts of Office Assistant and others in Madhya Pradesh Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company Limited (MPMKVVCL). Candidates can apply for this from 24th December.
For this the age limit has been fixed at 18 to 40 years. Candidates from 10th pass to graduate are eligible for these posts. 23 January 2025 is the last date to apply. Selected candidates will be given a salary ranging from Rs 19,500 to Rs 42,700. Candidates can submit the application on mponline.gov.in.

1. 14 students got 100 percentile in CAT 2024
Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta has released the result of Common Admission Test i.e. CAT 2024. Candidates can check their result and scorecard by entering the credentials on the official website iimcat.ac.in. Through its score, admission will be available in IIMs and 86 non-IIMs.
14 students have scored 100 percentile. Of those who scored 100 percentile, 13 are engineers and 13 are male students. Apart from this, 29 students have got 99.99 percentile out of which 25 are engineers and 4 are non-engineers. Only 2 girls are among the students who scored 99.99 percentile. Similarly, 30 students have achieved a score of 99.98 percentile.
2. UGC NET 2025 from January 3 to January 16
National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the new dates of UGC NET. Now the exam will be held from January 3 to January 16, 2025. Candidates who have registered for the exam can see the schedule of subjects by visiting the official website ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
According to the official notice released on the UGC NET website, the exam will be held in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode for all 85 subjects. The exam will be taken in two shifts.
