The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is going to make an election in its Annual General Meeting on 28 September. The 94th meeting of the board will begin at 11.30 am at BCCI’s headquarters in Mumbai. The meeting will also have an election of the Governing Council of IPL and WPL. The Asia Cup final is also to be held in Dubai on 28th.
Elections are being held for the new term of the board According to Cricbuz report, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia has sent information about the meeting to all State Association. In which it was told that the election is going to be held for the President, Vice President, Secretary, Joint Secretary and Treasurer Post.
The meeting will also feature 3 new members of the BCCI Apex Council and the Governing Council of IPL-WPL. A member of the Apex Council will be the representative of the general body of the board, while 2 representatives will be selected from the Indian Cricketers Association.

Rajiv Shukla turned 70 in July this year, due to which he had to step down as BCCI President. They can no longer become president.
BCCI’s new term will be for 3 years The candidates selected in the BCCI election will remain in the tenure for the next 3 years. However, it will not remain fixed at the moment whether the tenure will remain even after the implementation of the National Sports Bill. The bill will be implemented after about 6 months, by then the BCCI will follow the constitution given by the Lodha Committee in the Supreme Court.
Saikia is set to remain secretary BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia will maintain his position, as he became secretary this year after working in office for 3 years. He held the post of BCCI Secretary after Jai Shah became ICC chairman. Treasurer Prabhtej Bhatia (Chhattisgarh) and Joint Secretary Rohan Gaons Desai (Goa) were also elected during the secretary election. For this reason, they will also retain their post. All three have been elected to this post for 3 years.

Rajiv Shukla cannot become president Recently, 70 -year -old Rajiv Shukla was made an acting president after Roger Binny left the post of BCCI President. However, according to the Lodha Committee, after 70 years, no candidate can handle the post of President in BCCI. Therefore, the new president will be selected in place of Shukla.
Rajiv Shukla can now get the post of IPL chairman. However, it will have to be seen how the tenure of the current chairman Arun Dhumal will be managed. Dhumal was in the post of Treasurer in BCCI for 3 years from 2019 to 2022. After this he was made part of the IPL committee. However, after working for 6 consecutive years in BCCI and IPL, they will now have to go on a 3 -year cooling of period. At the same time, if the IPL Committee in the Lodha Committee is considered to be different from BCCI, then you can definitely perform your tenure in the IPL.
