1. Mahakumbh Mela becomes the 76th district of Uttar Pradesh
The Uttar Pradesh government declared the Mahakumbh area of Prayagraj as a new district on December 1. It will be known as ‘Maha Kumbh Mela District’. Till now there were a total of 75 districts in UP, but now there are 76 districts.
According to the notification issued by DM Prayagraj, there will be a total of 67 villages in this district consisting of 4 tehsils. Four tehsils include Sadar, Soraon, Phulpur and Karchana tehsil. Till now these tehsils came in Prayagraj district.
The notification for the formation of Mahakumbh Mela district was issued by Prayagraj DM Ravindra Kumar Mandad. According to the order, the district has been formed with immediate effect.
2. Trump appointed Indian-origin Kash Patel as FBI director.
America’s newly elected President Donald Trump on December 1 announced the name of ‘Kashyap Kash Patel’ as the next director of the investigating agency ‘Federal Bureau of Investigation’ (FBI). He replaces Christopher Wray, who was appointed by Trump in 2017.
Kash Patel became a member of the House Parliament Select Committee on Intelligence in 2017. Kash Patel’s parents fled to the US via Canada in the 1970s, fearing Ugandan ruler Idi Amin’s order to leave the country. Patel was born in New York.
Patel has also served as the former ‘Chief of Staff’ to Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller.

2. Recruitment notification issued for 140 posts in Indian Coast Guard
Indian Coast Guard (ICG) under the Ministry of Defense has released the notification for the recruitment of Assistant Commandant (Group ‘A’ Gazetted Officer). This notification has been issued for the 2026 batch. Candidates can apply by visiting the official website joinindiancoastguard.cdac.in.
Educational Qualification:
General Duty (GD):
- Graduation degree.
- Must have passed 12th with Maths and Physics.
- Maths and Physics are also necessary in the syllabus of diploma holders.
For Technical Branch:
- Engineering degree in Naval Architecture, Automotive, Mechanical, Mechatronics or related subject.
- Candidates with Electrical or Electronics Engineering can also apply.
Age Limit :
- Minimum: 21 years
- Maximum: 25 years

1. Ojha sir, who teaches UPSC coaching, joins AAP.
Ojha sir, who taught UPSC coaching with a towel tied on his head, has joined the Aam Aadmi Party. Party’s National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal and senior party leader Manish Sisodia included Awadh Ojha in the party.
Ojha sir has been coaching students for the last 22 years. His social media followers count in lakhs. Now Ojha sir can contest on AAP ticket in the Delhi Assembly elections to be held in February 2025.
2. ICMAI CMA Admit Card Released
The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) has released the December 2024 Cost and Management Accountancy (CMA) Admit Card today on December 2 on its official website icmai.in.
Students who have registered can download their admit card. Its examination will start from 10 December 2024.
The first paper of CMA final will be for Corporate Economics and Law. Whereas the last paper will be optional. The intermediate syllabus exam will start with Business Law and Ethics and end with Management Accounting.
- Intermediate: 10-17 December 2024
- Foundation: 15 December 2024
3. Labor rights for sex workers in Belgium
Belgium has become the first country in the world to give sex workers the same rights as other professions. Now sex workers will be able to get maternity leave, pension, health insurance and sick leave. Earlier in the year 2022, sex work was given legal recognition here.
