2. Hampi becomes world women’s chess champion
On December 29, India’s Grand Master Koneru Humpy became the World Women’s Rapid Chess Champion and won the gold medal. Humpy has become the second player in the world to have captured this title twice. Earlier, she had also become the World Women’s Rapid Chess Champion in Georgia in 2019.
The World Women’s Rapid Chess Championship was held in New York, America.

1. Water shower on BPSC candidates in cold weather
BPSC candidates announced Bihar Bandh today i.e. on 30th December, due to which protests by candidates are continuing not only in the capital Patna but also in Darbhanga, Arwal and Arrah districts.
During this time, the passenger train was stopped in Arrah and Sampark Kranti was also disrupted for 1 hour in Darbhanga. The protesters also blocked the Samastipur-Patna road, which had to be opened by the police after 3 hours. On Sunday i.e. yesterday, BPSC candidates had reached Patna to surround the Chief Minister’s residence. To stop them, the police used water cannon. However, when the students still did not move away, the police lathi-charged them. Actually, these students are demanding re-conduct of 70th CCE examination of BPSC.
2. UGC NET 3 January exam admit card released
NTA has released the admit card for UGC NET exam of January 3. Candidates can download the admit card from the official website ugcnet.nta.ac.in. Exam admit cards for future dates will also be released soon on the official website.
