1. PM Modi inaugurates PKC-ERCP
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 17 inaugurated 24 projects worth more than Rs 46,300 crore related to power, water, roads and railways in Rajasthan. Of these, 16 are central government and 8 state government projects. Apart from this, he also inaugurated the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal East Rajasthan Canal Project (PKC-ERCP). This is expected to end the decades-long water crisis in 21 districts of Rajasthan.
PM Modi had attended the ‘Ek Varsh-Parinaam Utkarsh’ program organized in Dadiya, Jaipur to commemorate the completion of one year of Bhajan Lal government.
2. NSA Ajit Doval will visit China
National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval will visit China today i.e. on 17th December. As India’s Special Representative (SR) on the India-China border dispute, he will hold his 23rd meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Beijing on December 18. Wang Yi is a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Foreign Minister of China. This is the first time after 2019 that a senior Indian official or leader will visit China. Earlier, Foreign Minister Jaishankar had visited China in August 2019.
NSA Ajeeb Doval will be meeting with Wang Yi tomorrow.

1. SSC CGL Tier-1 2024 Marks Released, Tier-2 Exams from 18th January
Staff Selection Commission i.e. SSC has released the marks of Tier-1 Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ posts exam. Its cutoff result was released on 5 December. Candidates can download the marks from the official website ssc.gov.in till 31st December.
To download the marks, candidates have to use their user name (registration number) and password.
The list of shortlisted candidates will be available on the SSC website. Along with this, those candidates who have not been shortlisted can also check their marks on the official website. These marks will be available on the website from 16th to 31st December (6:00 pm).
- Go to the official website i.e. ssc.gov.in.
- Click on the login link given in ‘Log in or Register’ on the homepage.
- Enter the required information like user name (registration number) and password.
- Download SSC CGL Marks 2024 and take a print out of the notice.
2. NCERT books 20% cheaper
There is good news for the students of class 9th to 12th. Now from the next academic session i.e. 2025-26, NCERT books from class 9th to 12th will be available at 20% lower prices. NCERT Director Dinesh Saklani said that this year paper for books has been purchased at very affordable prices.
Besides, the technology of printing press has also improved. Therefore the price of books has come down. Its direct benefit will be given to the students. Dinesh Saklani gave this information during the Bhoomi Pujan program being held for the new auditorium at NCERT Headquarters on 16 November.
