1. Virat retired from Test cricket
On May 12, Virat Kohli announced his retirement from international Test cricket.
Kohli wrote Instagram on Monday, May 12- Test cricket took my exam, gave me shape, taught the lesson that I will remember throughout my life.
- Earlier, Virat told BCCI on May 10 that I want to retire from Test cricket.
- BCCI had asked Kohli to consider his decision again.
- Virat Kohli scored 9230 runs in 123 Test matches at an average of 46.85 percent.
- He is the fourth player to score the most runs for India after Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and Sunil Gavaskar.
- Virat scored 7 double centuries, 30 centuries and 31 half -centuries in Test cricket.
- In 2017 and 2018, he was elected Test Player of the Year.
- He was also the captain of the Indian team in 68 Test matches.
- After India’s victory in the T-20 World Cup in 2024, Virat retired from the T-20 format.
2. Trade deal in America and China
On May 11, a trade deal was announced between the US and China in Geneva. Both countries have announced a 115% reduction in tariffs.
During a two -day talks between the US and China, it has been agreed to reduce business tension and tariff dispute.
- According to the agreement between the two countries in Geneva, the US will impose 30% tariffs on Chinese goods.
- China will impose 10% tariffs on American goods.
- The tariff between the two countries has currently been cut for 90 days.
- The trade talks took part in the conversation by US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant and Trade Representative Jemisson Greer, while China was headed by Deputy Prime Minister Hey Lifeng.

1. ICAI CA final and intermediate exam revised schedule released
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India i.e. ICAI announced to conduct the postponed CA examinations from 16 to 24 May in view of the security situation in the country. Earlier these exams were to be held from 9 to 14 May.
On May 10, ICAI released a revised exam schedule.
Chartered Accountants Final Exam Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be held on 16 and 18 May respectively. Earlier this exam was to be held on 10 and 13 May.
At the same time, the examinations of intermediate paper 4, paper 5 and paper 6 will be held on 20, 22 and 24 May respectively. Earlier it was to be held on 9, 11 and 14 May.
2. Civil Defense Course Starts at Mumbai University
In view of the India-Pakistan tension, the Maharashtra government has decided to start a civil defense course in the course of Mumbai University.
A memorandum (MoU) has been signed a recent MoU between the Directorate of Civil Protection and the University of Mumbai. Under this, the Civil Defense Course has been included in the academic course of the university.
Prabhat Kumar, Director of Civil Defense, informed about starting a civil defense ie civil defense course.
The course will be taught in all engineering colleges affiliated to the University of Mumbai and will have a 25 -digit weightage.
