1. Inauguration of many development projects in Sikkim
On May 29, a program was organized in Gangtok on the completion of 50 years of the state of Sikkim.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the ceremony through video conferencing.
- Due to bad weather, he took part in Bagdogra in West Bengal.
- During this time, the PM laid the foundation stone of several development projects and inaugurated.
- This includes the installation of a 500-bed district hospital in Namchi district, a ropeway in Sangacholing of Peling in Gyalashing district, a statue of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Gangtok district.
- Apart from this, the Governor also issued a memorial coin and postage stamp on the completion of 50 years of Sikkim by the PM.
- This program occurred on the theme ‘Sikkim@50: where progress is objective and promotes nature development’.
- Sikkim became the 22nd state of India after a referendum in 1975.
- After this, the then Chogyal Empire was merged with the Indian Union.
2. Indian rapper Raja Kumari won the 51st American Music Award
On 27 May, Indian -origin rapper and singer Raja Kumari won the 51st American Music Award (AMA).
Raja Kumari is the first Indian origin musician to win the American Music Award.
- Raja Kumari received this award in the Favorite Soundtrack category for the ‘Archen League of Legends: Season 2’.
- His song ‘Renegade (We Never Run)’ received the application at this award show held at Los Angeles.
- The song was composed by Raja Kumari with UK hip-hop artist Stephan Don and Dominican-Brazilian Artist Zarina de Marco.

- BE, BTech degree in the respective field

- Minimum: 18 years
- Maximum: 27 years
- Reserved classes will be given exemption as per rules.

1. SBI PO recruitment interview call letter released
State Bank of India i.e. SBI has released a call letter for the interview round of probationary officer recruitment. Mains qualified candidates official website sbi.co.in. You can download the call letter.
The interview is the final stage of the SBI PO recruitment process. A total of 600 posts of Probationary Officer are to be filled this year.
2. UPSC launches new application portal
On May 28, Union Public Service Commission i.e. UPSC started a new online application portal. This new portal is active on https://upsconline.nic.in. Also, the process of application for NDA/NA and CDS 2 has also started here.
UPSC has stated that the previous one time registration ie OTR system is no longer in use. Now all the candidates will have to register fresh on the new portl.
There are 4 different sections on the homepage of the portal, including- account creation, universal registration, common application form and exam.
