1. Uttarakhand became the first state of independent India to implement UCC
On January 27, Uttarakhand became the first state of independent India to implement UCC i.e. Uniform Civil Code. Let us tell you that UCC in Goa was implemented before independence, under the Portuguese Civil Code.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also launched the Uniform Citizenship Code Uttarakhand 2024 Rules and Portal (ucc.uk.gov.in).
2. M. Mohan becomes director of ISRO’s Liquid Propulsion Systems Center
On January 26, scientist M. Mohan was appointed director of ISRO’s Liquid Propulsion Systems Center (LPSC). ISRO Chief V. Narayanan appointed him.
M Mohan, a resident of Alappuzha, Kerala, is the current director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Center (VSSC).

1. Vacancy for 1154 apprentice posts in Railways
East Central Railway has released vacancies for 1154 apprentice posts. Applications for this have started from January 25. 10th pass candidates aged between 15 to 24 years can apply for these posts till 14th February. Selected candidates will get stipend as per railway rules. Candidates can apply by visiting rrcecr.gov.in.
2. Vacancy for 10758 other posts including teacher in MP
Madhya Pradesh Staff Selection Board has released vacancies for 10758 posts including Primary Teacher and others. Applications for this will start tomorrow from 28th January. Graduate candidates between 18 to 40 years can apply for these posts till 11 February. Selected candidates will get a monthly salary of Rs 25,300 to Rs 32,800. Candidates can apply by visiting esb.mp.gov.in.

1. 10% reservation for firefighters in Haryana in state government jobs
On January 26, Haryana government announced to give 10% reservation to Agniveer in government jobs of the state. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced this at the Republic Day program in Rewari.
Apart from this, he also talked about giving Rs 1 crore to the martyred families, increasing the pension for freedom fighters and buying farmers’ crops at MSP. Let us tell you that a total of 10 states including UP, MP and Rajasthan have already announced reservation in jobs for firefighters.
2. NEET UG 2025 will now be on the pre-Corona exam pattern
NTA issued a notice saying that all the changes made in the exam pattern during the Corona period have now been withdrawn. There will be no Section B in the question paper and the exam time will also be 180 minutes i.e. 3 hours only. Detailed pattern can be checked at neet.nta.nic.in.
